Behind the Name

Novoelle means “New Girl” … I originally started this blog as way to document my health journey, but I’ve since made it more of a general lifestyle blog about me and my interests, and some of that is yes, health related. While “New Girl” originally came about for entirely different intentions, there is a kernel of truth to it beyond just “dieting” … every day you wake up you have a chance to make yourself new.

I have a lot of self-improvement goals that I’m working on that cover all of the bases: mind, body, and spirit. I’m by no means perfect, but instead of being defeated (which is what usually happens because I’m a perfectionist), I’m focusing on doing the best I can. I ask God daily for wisdom, discernment and to help me be more like Christ so that I have more patience, love and kindness towards others.

I’m also a “New Girl” because that’s what Christ did for me. He took something dark, dingy and old, something that had no redeeming value, and made it new again.

I am crucified with Christ, nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me. And the life which I now live in the flesh, I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.

Galatians 2:20

Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things have become new.”

2 Corinthians 5:17
